My girl's weekend in D.C. included a great exercise in architectural appreciation. I did not spend my trip near the major monuments. Instead, I wandered through neighborhoods and gardens, the constantly changing cloud cover putting my aperture adjustment skills to work. I even caught a few budding cherry blossoms!
